Hence, Tailors Cafe is focused on accelerating an ecosystem for startups in fashion design and technology that promotes the culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Tailors Café offers start-up fashion designers and tailors a workspace for their production and to operate their businesses from at a token fee. The café serves as a workspace, as well as provides a community for budding fashion designers to meet, mingle, share ideas and expertise. It also provides an avenue for testing out business and entrepreneurship ideas with the opportunity for funding and partnerships.

In the area of business development, the Cafe facilitates services and opportunities that enhances members’ business prospects such as production outsourcing, trainings, fieldtrips, tradeshows, grant/loan application and other funding priviledges. The Cafe ensures a stimulating environment, providing opportunities for learners’ personal development which includes enterprise, vocational and technological skills.

Workspace & Shared Facility

Start-up fashion designers and tailors are offered a workspace and equipment for their production and to operate their businesses under a shared arrangement. The conducive end-to-end fashion production facility for various types of clothing items ensures small fashion businesses access quality and, in some cases, expensive machines for their production at a fee. This also ensure that the small businesses meet the regulatory standards in terms of production.

Skilling & Capacity Building

The Cafe facilitates skill development in the core areas of fashion vocation, and clothing production. We expose members to modern equipment and enhance their competencies in its operations and maintenance. The Cafe also enhances the capacity of members on the use technological tools such as Computer Aided Design (CAD) for Fashion, Artificial Intelligence such that they can create their fashion design portfolios, clothing/fashion brands and be better equipped for success as entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurship & Startup Support

Tailors Cafe is hinged on promoting and equipping members to foster enterprise development across the fashion value chain, with the intent of smartly applying innovation to solve commercial and social problems, chiefly creating jobs. We support members with the requisite enterprise skills and enabling environment to ensure they can turn their ideas into products, and then into business and organizations.

A key asset the Tailors Cafe offers is the community. We ensure a stimulating environment, providing opportunities for members to mingle, cross pollinate ideas, build teams, and execute projects. The Cafe facilitates collaborative platforms in fashion design and technology forging close links to work on fashion products and other related technology driven entrepreneurial ideas.

  • Accelerate co-creation, mentorship, and development of innovative enterprises for job creation, employment generation, economic development, and wealth creation along the fashion value chain.
  • Equip fashion startups with the requisite enterprise skills, provide the enabling environment for ideation, creation, and acceleration of a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship.
  • Advance fashion startups’ capacities to create businesses and jobs along the fashion value chain.
  • Provide fashion startups with the skillset on key processes such as product conceptualization, smart manufacturing, product finishing, packaging, and distribution, etc. relevant to the fashion industry.
  • Direct efforts to impact women and youth entrepreneurship, skill development and financial inclusion in the fashion industry.
  • Facilitate a shared facility to ensure access to quality and high productivity machineries to small fashion owners within the catchment area.
  • To contribute to the improvement of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product and national prosperity by encouraging innovations and enterprises in the fashion business value chain.
